Artist Discussions Series
Thursday 19 October – 5:30 pm
Conversations around developing resilient practice and artist experiences working with communities in post-tragedy environments.
An opportunity for the Wellington arts and the wider community to sit down and share some kai and korero with the visiting artists from Christchurch and Kaikoura. This is an opportunity to discuss works, ideas and experiences together.
We hope the evening will provide the opportunity to make new connections where we can begin to collaborate and make plans for the next Shared Lines Collective Event to be held in Christchurch and Kaikoura. It is our intention to bring new people into the collective so we especially invite people interested in working on the ground in Christchurch with the artists next year. We invite emerging and established practitioners to the discussion and are open to all disciplines and interests.
Please bring some food to share and your enthusiasm!
Performance and Entertainment Evening

An evening of Performance Art and Entertainment
Line Up of Performers:
Her practice is often playful, ritualistic and aims to question the status quo. She enjoys twisting the every day into the absurd, excessive and uncanny. In her new interactive performance, Millenial Fortune Telling, Audrey will use the ‘fruit of the current generation’ to offer readings that touch on an individual’s past, present and future. BYO condiments to aid the digestion of some potentially unpleasant truths.
An Aotearoa New Zealand-based art collaboration that started in 2011. Fantasing is an ‘internet potato’ cultivated from the history of feminist artist collectives, and their practice spans music, video works, sculpture, writing and Facebook. “Our band genre is INNER CORE. Last year we had an idea to write a rock opera called “The 7 Stages Of Grief“. We may or may not ever do this. We let our art live & breathe and we respect that” – Fantasing – cosmic vibration between Bek Coogan, Claire Harris, Sarah Jane Parton & Gemma Syme.
Bric a Brac Ravers
The Gathering 1997 Takaka Hill: 2 Dutch Goa Trance Deejays Spyder and Freek disappear in what was presumed a tragic raving accident. Only glow sticks, white gloves and a silver shell suit are found. 2017: 2 Dutch bric a brac vendors are working the upper Cuba Thistle Hall Gallery spreading a gospel of a new golden era of 90’s rave culture and the return of the mystical perpetual raver Dolphin Gear Heart Sven Michaels – tales of 20 years continuous raving in a crystal cave deep below the Takaka Hill abound and the city is again awash with counterfeit merchandise and 90’s rave supplements. Stay Alert, nothing is as it seems. Buyer Beware!
